Group Therapy
Do you have some of these concerns? · Problems relating with others, i.e. friends, family, co-workers, bosses, etc. · Anxiety talking with people you do not know · Being open or vulnerable with people · Feeling as though your relationships are often unsatisfying or superficial · Feeling misunderstood or frequently misunderstanding others. · Difficulty asserting yourself appropriately in your relationships, either personal or professional In group therapy, you learn that you are not alone in experiencing problems. You can experiment with trying to relate to people differently in a safe environment, learn to talk about difficult problems, and allow yourself to be vulnerable with a psychologist present to facilitate the process. Additionally, group therapy will allow you to learn from the experiences of others with similar problems, as well as allow you to better understand how people very different from yourself view the world and interact with people. In a group therapy session, group members are encouraged to openly and honestly discuss the issues that brought them to therapy.
A therapy group can help address your concerns by: · Offering a safe, therapeutic environment in which to work on more effective interpersonal interactions · Having a chance to practice being more assertive and open with others · Seeing that others struggle with similar dilemmas, and work to learn alternative ways to respond to their circumstances · Providing support and guidance to men as they work through shame, anxiety, depression or other difficult emotions · Offers opportunities to develop new coping strategies in a confidential, safe environment.
Please call 512.236.9091 for more information. The cost is $50 per session. Confidentiality is always respected.
